UKAS confirms highest standards at Qrometric

Qrometric’s latest Schedule of Accreditation, issued by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), confirms Qrometric’s laboratory is operating to the very highest standards of range and uncertainty in Dew/Frost Point and Relative Humidity calibration.

Exceptional range for humidity/moisture

Qrometric’s accredited Humidity range now extends to -90 ºC frost point, one of just a few laboratories in the UK that can work at this range for both measurement devices and generators.

In Relative Humidity, Qrometric’s CMC has been reduced to as low as 0.12 %rh. This is considered to be one of the lowest uncertainties accredited in the UK and the best uncertainty Qrometric has returned in over three years of UKAS accreditation.

Excellent standards for temperature in air too

The UKAS Schedule also acknowledges exemplary performance of temperature measurement in air, confirming a range of -10 ºC to +85 ºC with an Expanded Measurement Uncertainty of 0.073 ºC.

Callum Morgan, Calibration Laboratory and Quality Manager at Qrometric, pictured above, says this year’s accreditation shows the commitment the company makes to high-end humidity and temperature calibration.

“We work with National Metrology Institutes, Calibration Laboratories, Research and Industrial organisations who depend on best measurement capability for the integrity of their products, processes and services. This accreditation reflects our investment in delivering the very highest quality.”

An investment in the best equipment and the best solutions

What makes it possible to deliver such high standards? Together with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the team, Callum explains that the RH Systems CGS-240 Humidity Generator is at the heart of Qrometric’s laboratory.

The CGS-240 is a fully automated two-pressure two-temperature humidity generator system capable of continuous, high-accuracy humidity generation over a wide range of humidity, temperature, and flow rates.

Six-sided fluid jacket enables lower uncertainties

Callum explains a key feature is the chamber’s six-sided fluid jacket that enables lower uncertainties and a greater temperature range:

“In older technology, the door is typically excluded from the temperature control. In the CGS-240, the temperature-controlled fluid jacket extends across the door, ensuring better thermal gradients and stability. This investment is key to delivering the highest quality for reference labs like us who want to work in the most demanding applications.”

Qrometric’s own FPG Dew Point Calibrator, the world’s first self-contained transportable Dew-Frost Point Calibrator, has also been integral to the laboratory driving for an extended range.

Callum says. “The FPG can operate down to -90, so we need to be able to calibrate our own instrument to that level.”
